IHCL EXPANDS PRESENCE IN JAMSHEDPUR, JHARKHAND WITH THE SIGNING OF ITS FIRST VIVANTA HOTEL IN THE STATE

MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 09, 2023: Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), India’s largest hospitality company, today announced the signing of its fourth hotel in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. This is a conversion and will be rebranded Vivanta after extensive renovations. The hotel will be operational in 2024.

Ms. Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL said, “Jharkhand with its significant commercial potential is being recognized as an important state. This signing is in line with IHCL’s vision to be present in key markets. Vivanta Jamshedpur is a step in that direction, as it is amongst the largest cities of the state. With this hotel, IHCL will now have two of its brands in the city. We are delighted to partner with Vijaya Homes Group.”

The 94 key hotel is strategically situated on Golmuri Road in the centre of the city. It is surrounded by major steel, automotive and manufacturing companies. Other facilities at the hotel will include an all-day diner, specialty and roof top restaurants, bar, swimming pool and a fitness centre. It will also offer over 1,000 sq. mt. of banqueting space spread across three halls.

Founded by Jamsetji Tata and named after him, Jamshedpur is also known as Tatanagar due to the presence of multiple Tata companies. It is India’s first industrial city and a major manufacturing hub. It is also home to Jamshedpur FC and is known for nurturing sports talent in archery, football and hockey.

With the addition of this hotel, IHCL will have four hotels across Vivanta and Ginger brands in Jharkhand including one under development.
