Jaipur, 22 February: FICCI is preparing to host international speakers in Jaipur to raise awareness about the use of multilingual Internet. The one-day seminar on “Multilingual Internet and Universal Acceptance” will take place at 10 am on Friday, at the Hotel ITC Rajputana. This seminar is considered a precursor event for the “Universal Acceptance Day,” which will be held on March 28 by the Indian government in Delhi. As a result of this event, India will be established as a leading country in multilingual Internet acceptance worldwide.

Dr. Ajay Data, who is the Chairman of UASG, ICANN, and FICCI Task Force on Multilingual Internet and Universal Acceptance, is making a significant contribution to the organization of this event. Through Dr. Data’s tireless efforts, “Universal Acceptance Day” will be celebrated globally by the Indian government and other countries on March 28th. FICCI-ILIA, Local India UA chapter, NIXI, and other stakeholders are supporting this seminar, under the auspices of India’s Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.

According to Dr. Ajay Data, Chairman of UASG, ICANN, and FICCI Task Force on Multilingual Internet and Universal Acceptance, Universal Acceptance is a vital aspect of multilingual Internet. Universal Acceptance guarantees that all domain names and email addresses, regardless of script, language, or character length, are equally accepted across all internet-enabled applications, devices, and systems. Additionally, Email Address Internationalization (EAI) is a process that enables email addresses with domain names or mailbox names of different languages and scripts to work seamlessly while sending and receiving emails. Universal Acceptance is a fundamental requirement for the expansion of Indic-Internet in India, and a UA awareness campaign is necessary, particularly on the occasion of the launch of Global UA Day on March 28th.

The seminar will feature prominent speakers such as Additional Chief Secretary, IT&C, Government of Rajasthan, Shri Akhil Arora; Inspector General of Police, Jaipur, Shri Sharat Kaviraj; Commissioner and Joint Secretary, Department of Information Technology and Communications, Government of Rajasthan, Mr. Ashish Gupta; Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement and Managing Director, Asia Pacific ICANN, Mr. Jia Rong Lo; CEO NIXI, Mr. Anil Kumar Jain; Chairman, UASG, ICANN, Chairman FICCI Task Force on Multilingual Internet and Universal Acceptance, Dr. Ajay Data; Mr. Hezekiel Dlamini, Officer-In-Charge and Advisor for Communication and Information for South Asia UNESCO; Senior Director of Stakeholder Engagement for South Asia, ICANN, Mr. Nitin Walli and Director, FICCI, and Chairperson, Local India UA Chapter, Ms. Sarika Gulyani.
