Mumbai, February 28, 2024: We wanted to highlight a key hire for Citi overnight (details in this link): Announcing our new Head of Banking and Executive Vice Chair of Citi (citigroup.com)
Viswas (“Vis”) Raghavan will join Citi as Head of Banking and Executive Vice Chair of Citi. He will have responsibility for Investment, Corporate and Commercial Banking globally.
As Executive Vice Chair of Citi, Vis will help shape and drive our firm-wide strategy and assist with key strategic initiatives.
- He’s joining us from J.P. Morgan, where he was Head of Global Investment Banking.
- Much like when we announced Andy Sieg was joining Citi from Merrill Lynch to run our Wealth business, welcoming Vis to Citi demonstrates our continued ability to attract the best talent to our firm.
- Vis is yet another important, strategic hire to lead one of our five core businesses. His decision to join Citi from a strong competitor where he’s had a remarkable career speaks volumes about the enviable platform we have at Citi and is a recognition of the hard work we’re doing to ensure our bank reaches its full potential.
- He is excited about joining Citi because he believes in our strategic vision, the talent we have at our firm and the value proposition that Citi’s unmatched global platform can offer clients.
About Vis:
- Vis is a highly respected leader in our industry and well known to many of our clients and other key stakeholders.
- He was most recently the Head of Global Investment Banking, and he was Co-Head of Global Investment and Corporate Banking, Head of EMEA Investment and Corporate Banking and Treasury Services before that.
- In addition to his global Banking responsibilities, Vis has at the same time been serving as CEO of J.P. Morgan in EMEA since 2017. In that role, he worked with the bank’s senior country officers and business heads to deliver for clients across all lines of business.
