ICICI Bank organises 220 coin exchange melas across Rajasthan

ICICI Bank recently organised 220 coin exchange melas at its select branches across the state of Rajasthan. These were held under the aegis of the Reserve Bank of India. The purpose of the melas was to distribute coins to the general public as well as to provide fresh currency notes in exchange for soiled and mutilated ones. This initiative is in line with RBI’s Clean Note Policy. The Bank organised these melas at 139 cities in the state, including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota and Bikaner.

Shri Abhishek Dixit, Assistant General Manager, Issue Department, Reserve Bank of India, Jaipur, inaugurated the event at the Bank’s branch at Bajaj Nagar in Jaipur.

The melas witnessed participation of nearly 8,000 customers across these cities wherein they exchanged around ₹14 crore worth of coins in the denomination of ₹10, ₹5, ₹2 and ₹1 along with fresh currency notes of ₹10, ₹20 and ₹50. People from all walks of life, including traders, retailers, retired individuals participated in these melas to obtain smaller denomination of currency and coins which would help them undertake small ticket transactions in a convenient manner.

The Bank has more than 560 branches and over 900 ATMs in the state, making it largest branch network in the state, among private sector banks.
